The initial wave of codes for access to PlanetSide 2's PlayStation 4 closed beta went out late last night, Creative Director Matt Higby confirmed shortly after the servers went live.
If you haven't yet received your code, don't panic yet. Higby said the first wave was just "a very small batch," and promised more codes would be sent today.
#PS2onPS4 note: keys will be going out in several batches as we ramp up, not everyone can get one in the first batch. Please be patient.

As a reminder, codes for PlanetSide 2's PS4 closed beta are being sent out in waves, with the initial phase inviting "a few thousand players" in chronological order for when they signed up.
"We want to make sure the servers are handling everything OK and that we're getting the information we need to make tweaks and changes, and once we feel good about that, we'll send out more invites to the players," PlanetSide 2 executive producer Clint Worley told us. "We're going to send out that initial round, evaluate, make sure that we get the data that we need, and then send out the other round. The invites are being sent based on when the players submitted their beta application. The earlier you submitted the information, the more likely you are to be in the early phases of the beta."
A few of us are running around testing stability. Look for streams on your PS4. Not much fighting but the game looks amazing!

SOE says the long term goal is to eventually open the beta up to a "much broader group" of players, but for now they are keeping it limited. You can still sign up for closed beta at the official website, and if you have any additional questions check out our full interview with Clint Worley.
