Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 is available right now on Steam

Just when you thought the series couldn't possibly get any more over the top, previews for Five Nights at Freddy's 4 came along and proved you wrong — and you can get the full game right now on Steam for $7.99.

Previously, the game had been announced for an August release, but it looks like Scott Cawthon and his robotic cronies just couldn't wait to get the jump on us. In any case, get ready to see a lot of heads coming out of a lot of places heads don't normally belong.

For those not in the know, the Five Nights at Freddy's series taps into a frighteningly real childhood (and perhaps even adulthood) fear: that those creepy animatronics found at the likes of Chuck E. Cheese come to life at night to prey on those still left hanging around. It's gained such a following that Warner Bros. even picked up the rights to make a film.
