Fizziology research indicates Watch Dogs is most anticipated PS4 game

Of the games already confirmed for a PS4 launch, gamers are most excited for Ubisoft's Watch Dogs, according to research conducted by Fizziology. For those unfamiliar, Fizziology is a research firm that utilizes social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter to track what press and consumers are saying about key things. In this case, they tracked games for the PlayStation 4.

Although much of Fizziology COO Jen Handley's interview with Forbes was centered on the PlayStation 4 console, there was one question which asked about titles gamers are most excited about on the PS4. According to Handley, 25% of game chatter was with Ubisoft's open-world adventure Watch Dogs. Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and InFAMOUS: Second Son are second, both with 15% of game chatter.

The methodology used to discover this data, to me, doesn't seem the most accurate, though many other — more professional corporate heads — seemingly find it pretty useful.

"We use social media as the world’s biggest, fastest, most honest focus group to provide actionable business insights. Basically we tell brands what their audiences, fans and customers are saying and what to do about it," Handley explained. Fizziology collects feeds from Twitter, Facebook, and blogs for a variety of brands and properties. A team of "social media analysts" then read these feeds and determine the sentiment, gather insights, and analyze the conversation. Like I said, it's useful, but I don't know how much I would actually depend on it.

So take what you want from this, but Watch Dogs is the most anticipated PS4 game. The game was first announced at E3 2012, and was easily the talk of the show. Recently, though, we've seen more footage of the open-world adventure featuring protagonist Aiden Pearce and his ability to hack into Chicago's central operating system. No doubt, the stunning gameplay footage we've seen has increased chatter.

We still don't know when Watch Dogs will release, but we do know it will be available on PS4 at launch, along with the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.
