Flappy Bird removed from iTunes, Google Play store

As promisedFlappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen has removed his insanely popular game from the iTunes and Google Play stores. The game no longer appears in searches on either store and its spot at the top of each store's respective "Top Games" has been relinquishd.

Flappy Bird creator, Dong Nguyen, warned players that the game would be removed, mysteriously explaining "I cannot take this anymore." We don't know what "this" is referring to, but Nguyen confirmed the decision was not related to legal issues. "I just cannot keep it anymore," he said.

Though most would agree Flappy Bird was a poorly created game, it saw incredible success due to its simplistic, yet addictive nature. At the game's peak, Nguyen was believed to be making $50,000 a day from it.Since its removal, there have been a number of replacement Flappy Bird clones. Beautiful irony for a game many had argued was a ripoff itself.

On the plus side, Nguyen assured his followers that he still makes games. I can't wait to see what his follow-up will be. I hope it has some Candy Crush elements.
