Update 1.05 has launched for For Honor today on PC, with updates coming soon for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This brings changes to a number of things, including gear, mechanics, and progression.
First of all, there are tons of bug fixes and balancing. Gear has been changed pretty heavily. Values of Revenge on gear are down in nearly every aspect. Essentially, the bonus of Revenge stats is down.
Another change to gear is the Guardbreak counter no longer benefiting from the debuff stat on gear. According to the patch notes, players were able to minimize the time available to Guardbreak with the debuff stat. The update snubs that:
“The way we’ve handled this mechanic so far caused that time window to shrink if you were using Gear with Debuff Duration Stat. It wasn’t intended, so we’ve updated how this works to guarantee the 200ms Guardbreak Interrupt window regardless of Gear.”
Many of the fighters have been altered. The Nobushi's Hidden State is easier to activate and functions similarly to the other fighter's full block stances. The Peacekeeper's zone attack, the Warlord's headbutt and other fighter balances can be viewed in the full patch notes.
Possibly the biggest change is how players complete Daily and Contract orders. They can all be completed through PvP and versus AI. Previously, it could only be done how the game decided, but now the player can choose.
All these changes are available now on PC, while the PlayStation and Xbox updates are coming as soon as they're ready. To kick off the update, there is a weekend duel event where players can earn 2000 steel for completing the Community Order.
