Back in May 2007, Square Enix released a music compilation consisting of nothing but battle-style music, Battle Tracks Vol 1. Three years later, it looks like they’re finally going to release volumes two and three on September 15.
Vol.2 covers Square games from 1996 through 1998, including music from Final Fantasy VII, SaGa Frontier, Xenogears, and even non RPGs Parasite Eve and Chocobo no Fushigi na Dungeon, Tobal and Einhander. Yes, that’s right: Einhander. The Square Enix game where you can duke it out with Cloud and Sephiroth.
The thirteen-track Vol.3 covers years 1999 through 2000 and includes a similar mix, with titles such as Final Fantasy VIII, SaGa Frontier, Final Fantasy IX, Vagrant Story, Racing Lagoon, and iS Internal Section.
