Gwen Stacy left the Spider-Man universe (she had no choice really, The Amazing Spider-Man issue #121 ended her career), made her return in the Marvel Universe as Spider-Gwen, and it was awesome. Not only did reviewers love the first comic, but so did game developers.
Yusuke Hashimoto, the game director for Bayonetta 2 (and producer of the original Bayonetta), said he'd love to make a Spider-Gwen game — but things are changing. It's not about Spider-Gwen anymore, it's all about Gwenpool.
Gwenpool will be making her debut in November's Howard the Duck #1 issue as part of a series of special backup stories. Her first standalone comic will come in December's Gwenpool Special #1 where She-Hulk is having a party and invites the entire Marvel Universe. Now, I could comment on how the series has to start with a party – but let's be honest that party sounds hectic and messy.
Gwenpool is written by Gerry Duggan, Charles Soule, Christopher Hastings and 'more' and will feature art by Danilo Beyruth, Langdon Foss, Gurihiru and 'more.'
