Asemblance is a first person, narratively focused puzzle game developed by a small three-man team called Nilo Studios, which is comprised of two former Bungie developers and a Hollywood sound designer. Originally it was announced that the game would release during the month of May, but considering that it is already half way through June, common sense dictates that did not happen. Instead, the studio has announced that Asemblance will release simultaneously on PS4 and PC in both North America and Europe on June 21st, 2016 in a move they say is "for the best."
Asemblance takes cues from games like PT and The Stanley Parable as well as TV shows like The X-Files and Black Mirror and brings them all together in an experience that will make you question what is actually true. The game is a pilot episode of what the studio hopes is a long line of games that will follow under the name Asemblance and will utilize a constant theme of "Man vs. Machine."
The pilot episode will take place around the building of an experimental memory machine and you, the player are trapped within it, given only the choice of trying to escape or dive deeper into the mysteries it holds.
Asemblance will retail for $9.99 on both platforms, a very reasonable price tag considering the history of the genre. Studio founder, Niles Sankey wanted the game to be "sold at a cost that is relative to the player’s time investment", so that is sure to resonate well with the players.
It's only a few short days away, but it looks like Asemblance is setting itself up for a very successful launch. If you are interested in getting a final verdict on the game, you can keep yourself glued to GameZone.com to hear more in the future.
