Former Horizon Zero Dawn dev Microsoft’s Project Scorpio made Xbox One S “obsolete”

Microsoft's E3 2016 press conference was home of two huge announcements, a new smaller version of the Xbox One is coming and that Project Scorpio is real. While the Xbox One S will offer some beefed up hardware, Project Scorpio is boasting even stronger insides.

The kicker is, both consoles were announced at the same conference and they are only releasing about a year apart. The former Horizon Zero Dawn and League of Legends producer, Mark Norris, asked a question that plenty of the Xbox community had been wondering: Why buy an Xbox One S when Project Scorpio will be releasing about a year after?

It's almost as though Microsoft shook off the console war with Sony and decided to go to war with themselves. Which console is a more viable purchase?

Only the future will tell whether the Xbox One S sees the sales that Microsoft certainly hopes for.
