Former Rockstar employee leaks Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC

Rockstar Games is just a few months away from releasing their next big title in the form of the open-world western, Red Dead Redemption 2. As per usual, Rockstar won’t be dropping the game on PC at launch but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening at all.

An eagle-eyed Reddit user spotted that a former Rockstar employee listed their work over the course of their nearly 8-year tenure on their LinkedIn profile and there was one very notable thing amongst their work. The employee listed that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be coming to PC which isn’t much of a shocker but it’s nice to get some confirmation given the first game never did make it to the platform.

Of course, there are some reasons for Red Dead Redemption never coming to PC. The game was sort of a technical nightmare and had some very messy code, the game was ultimately saved by producer Leslie Benzies in the final weeks before release. It essentially made it really difficult to port the game to anything outside of the Xbox 360 and PS3 due to how much trouble the original game was to make.

While this listing could simply be a typo and the listing has been wiped off LinkedIn, it seems likely the open-world crime game will come to the platform as Grand Theft Auto V has found major success on PC thanks to the modding community. We don’t know when Red Dead Redemption 2 will come to PC but if we were to guess, it will probably be sometime in the summer or fall of 2019.

Red Dead Redemption is scheduled to hit Xbox One and PS4 on October 26th, 2018.
