Fortnite: Battle Royale is the free-to-play mode of Epic Game’s Fortnite in which players participate in a PUBG-like battle arena. It’s received a number of updates since its launch. Many of these updates include new items and changes to the gameplay. The next one will bring 60 FPS to the PS4 and PS4 Pro.
You read that right. While most games save their icing on top (4K, 60 FPS, etc) for the Pro/X versions of current generation consoles, the next update for Fortnite: Battle Royale adds 60 FPS to both the baseline PS4 and the Pro.
The development team is also working on further optimizations, new costumes for events, new modes, and even custom matches for further tweaks to the rules.
The game is currently in Season 2, and Epic Games has already announced their plans for a Season 3. For a full look of what’s to come in the next few weeks and months, check out the developer blog post here.
Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One for Save the World mode. Likewise, the Battle Royale mode is available on the same consoles for free.
