Forza Horizon 4 now also has a battle royale mode with Eliminator

Playground Games has pushed a new free content update onto their brilliant open-world arcade racer Forza Horizon 4. With Eliminator, plays can look forward to a new battle royale game mode. Watch the announcement trailer below!

Playground Games landed a real winning formula by creating a more welcoming spin-off from the Forza series. The Forza Horizon series started during the Xbox 360 era and quickly managed to not only win fans of racing games in general but it also became at least as popular as the main Forza titles, if not more. Understandable, as it offers a lower entrance barrier compared to its simulation sibling.

The most recent entry, Forza Horizon 4, took the series to the English countryside where on top of a large open-world chock-full of activities, changing seasons added immensely to replayability and variation. By offering all game content apart from cosmetics for free to every user, the title also is one of the most user-friendly racers on the market at the moment.

The Eliminator invites up to 72 players to face-off within an arena set in the open world of Britain. Eliminating one another in head-to-head races to earn upgrades and a chance to pick up faster cars. Arena walls contract throughout the game, forcing players closer together until a final white-knuckle race among the survivors determines the winner.

As such, it comes as very nice news that the developer has added a very unique new game mode with Elimination. As the name might allude to, in Elimination racers won’t be occupied to adhere to street signs or even asphalt tracks. Instead, it’s a battle royale mode where you have to race away from danger to checkpoints that are randomly spawned throughout the world. Genre-typical, those who come last get eliminated. It’s an adrenaline-filled new mode that is adding even more content to the already large game. Being a free update is only icing on the cake.

Elimination is live now in Forza Horizon 4 on PC and Xbox One.
