In an effort to help players find online matches faster in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, 343 Industries has temporarily removed four playlists. These include:
- Team hardcore
- Rumble Pit
- Halo 4
- SWAT (rotational)
It's unclear exactly how long these playlists will be removed, but for now the updated playlist layout will consist of:
- Team Halo 2: Anniversary
- Halo Championship Series
- Team Slayer
- Big Team Battle
- Halo 2 Classic
- Halo 3
'This concentrated playlist layout will allow players to get into matches faster, and improve overall match times," 343 Industries said in the latest status update.
"While we anticipate that concentrating our players into fewer playlists will have an effect on match times, it will not solve all Matchmaking issues," the developer added. "We are currently investigating CUs and server side tweaks over the next week to address matchmaking issues. "
343i also said they have another Content Update going live tomorrow that should address fixes for scoring and stats. Unfortunately, it will not include in-progress Matchmaking fixes, outside of a minor fix for team skill matching. Official patch notes will be posted tomorrow, 343i added.
Since the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Tuesday, a number of players have been experiencing problems with matchmaking. Though routine updates have improved the experience, there's still many that have not seen an improvement. "back-end data is showing that the majority of successful Matchmaking matches are found within 2-4 minutes of searching," 343 Industries said, explaining that if you do not find a match within 5 minutes, you should return to the lobby and restart the search.
"Thank you for your continued patience. We will continue to post regular updates as we work to deliver fixes."
As always, we'll continue to monitor the situation and update you with any new developments.
