Four new games added to Xbox One’s backward compatibility

Microsoft quietly updated its catalog of Xbox One backward compatibility games, adding four new titles to the list.

Among the games now playable on Xbox One is, of course, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which we learned today is a pre-order bonus for Quantum Break.

Other Xbox 360 games now featuring backward compatibility include LEGO Batman, Sam & Max Beyond Time & Space, and Trials HD.

These are the latest games to be added to the backward compatibility roster, but there are plenty more on the way, including Alan Wake which will be free on Xbox One for anyone who purchases Quantum Break. Alan Wake's availability on Xbox One will coincide with the launch of Remedy Entertainment's new Xbox One-exclusive.

It was also recently revealed that Red Dead Redemption will soon be joining the roster of backward compatible games. Thanks to a Microsoft screw up, Rockstar's open-world action-adventure western was made playable on Xbox One for anyone who already owned the Xbox 360 version digitally. Though Microsoft has since removed access to the game, it's clear that Red Dead Redemption is on its way to becoming playable on Xbox One.
