FOX working towards live-action X-Men TV show

During a recent press tour of the Television Critics Association, The Hollywood Reporter discovered that FOX is working on closing a deal to make one of the most beloved Marvel groups a live-action television series.

CEO and Fox Television Group Chairman Dana Walden stated, "[For] X-men we're in negotiations with Marvel. We're hopeful we'll be able to announce something soon. We're not closed on a deal yet, but it's something we're definitely pursuing."

The show is expected to be written by Star Trek's Patrick McKay and J.D Payne with creative rights to 24's Evan Katz and Manny Coto.

This is probably a serious mess of rights battles; however, it seems that 20th Century Fox is not in the business of giving up the rights to X-Men anytime soon. Walden said, "The characters from the X-men franchise are with Fox on the feature side, so we won't be including Marvel characters that are at ABC and Disney." There goes our hopes of a peaceful transition of the franchises. There's also been no mention of which actors will be featured as the X-Men. All of this news is very surprising after Hugh Jackman's recent announcement of leaving the franchise. WE HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS! I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
