Freddy Krueger is back for another A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot

1, 2, Freddy's coming for you...

Wes Craven's 1984 film 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' made the name Freddy Krueger a great reason not to sleep at night. The film was such a phenomenon that Krueger came back to ruin your sleep for six sequels and do a Freddy vs Jason crossover film.

In 2010, Michael Bay and Samuel Bayer unsuccessfully attempted to reboot the series. The film starring Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger holds a staggering 15% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite of the failed reboot attempt, David Leslie Johnson, the writer behind the recently release horror film The Orphan, is looking to bring about another reboot.

Johnson's reboot won't feature Haley as Krueger again, they are looking for a "younger actor."

The reboot is coming from the home of the original film series, New Line studios and will be overseen by Richard Brener, Walter Hamada and Dave Neustadter on behalf of the studio. Earlier this week, Johnson announced that he was writing a Dungeons and Dragons adaptation for Warner Bros.
