Free Dark Souls mobile spin-off Slashy Souls now available

Bandai Namco first trademarked the title Slashy Souls in September 2015, but the publisher only recently revealed what the name belongs to: a mobile endless runner inspired by Dark Souls.

Slashy Souls is a simpler, two-dimensional take on From Software’s mainline Souls series. Run, jump, avoid traps, hit skeletons, and avoid the encroaching fog. Think Sen’s Fortress meets Flappy Bird.

Slashy Souls is the result of a partnership between Bamco and GameStop, and is not made by From Software. Nevertheless, the free iOS and Android game is filled with enemies and items taken directly from the Souls games. Gravelord Nito and Executioner Smough are clear standouts in the trailer. Oh, and you collect Estus.

The free game is now available on Google Play and the App Store.

Thanks, GameInformer.
