Virgin Interactive’s Viva Football, Magic & Mayhem, and Jimmy White’s 2 Cueball have all been secured in a license for online rights. These three ‘Triple A’ titles will join the already-impressive stable of games at Freeloader.com which includes the likes of Grand Theft Auto and Hidden & Dangerous. Viva Football – the highly acclaimed and realistic 3D soccer simulation with top options for everyone. Soccer pundit’s bible, PC Soccer describes it as “Beautiful, stunning, gorgeous, chart-topper. Viva does for footie games what Man Utd has done for Manchester. It will stand above all the others and be recognised as the best – minus the posh and spicy bits, of course!” Jimmy White’s 2 Cueball – the finest snooker and pool game ever. Experience it just the way it was intended, in stunning high-resolution 3D graphics. “Another scrupulous, yet highly playable, game. Every sport should have its sim and this is snooker. And pool’s. And darts’ as well. Oh, and draughts’. Oh, you get the idea.” UK’s no.1-selling PC magazine, PC Gamer Magic & Mayhem – a leading real time strategy game that takes strategy to unprecedented levels, with 36 regions to conquer. Top gaming magazine PC Zone gave it a classic rating and describes it as “real time strategy like no other ..[it] reminds us that nothing is more important than solid addictive game play.”(Issue 70). Harry Holmwood, Chief Executive of Pure Entertainment Games plc said: “We are very excited with the high calibre of games secured from Virgin Interactive to be offered on Freeloader.com. These games have all retailed well in the last year, and by securing the online publishing rights we make them available to a much wider audience.” Commenting on the agreement, Joss Ellis, International VP Development for Virgin Interactive said: “Virgin Interactive will explore all avenues through which we can exploit revenues. This deal with freeloader.com secures extra revenue for us and ensures that the life cycle of these acclaimed products is extended.” In addition to the games with secured online rights, Freeloader.com also offers original games such as Halcyon Sun, an exciting episodic space opera, Rat Attack, a fast and furious platform game, and Pure Tennis, that have been developed especially for freeloaders everywhere. Freeloader.com will also feature a trio of online championship and fantasy-style football games that will be released later in the year. These three football management games will be compatible with both PC and Macintosh operating systems, forming part of a long-term multi platform strategy including WAP-enabled mobile phones. To be able to begin downloading, ‘Freeloaders’ must register their details and each time they return for more levels or new games, they must answer a few short questions. Freeloader.com will be building up an intricate knowledge of its users through advanced data-capture and personalised marketing technologies that will enable advertising and e-commerce opportunities on the site to be highly targeted. The technology will also allow ‘reward points’ to be attributed to the players in exchange for their viewing and response to advertising. Freeloader.com is a division and trademark of Pure Entertainment Games plc. Note for Editors: Pure Entertainment Games PLC was listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) on 25th October 1999, in which 11m was raised to launch Freeloader.com.
