Friday the 13th game delayed to 2017, will add campaign

You'll need to wait a bit longer to visit Camp Crystal Lake.

The Kickstarter success story, Friday the 13th the video game, has been delayed from fall 2016 to spring 2017 but don't worry, it's for the better!

Developer Gun Media explained that the game needs some extra time to add polish and additional features to make it the best game they possibly can at launch. The delay will be used "to expand development and inclusion of AI bots, Tommy Jarvis as [a ]playable character and [the] inclusion of Packanack Lodge playable map."

The game will be getting a beta at the end of the year for those who backed a certain Kickstarter tier, but the rest of us will have to wait until 2017 to get our hands on the game.

The game will also feature a single player mode that will be added later in the summer of 2017 but no details were given on what will be included in that single player mode.

Friday the 13th will be priced at $40 digitally and $60 physically and all players who pre-order will get the single player at no additional cost. The predominantly multiplayer focused survival game will be released on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
