From Software wants Dark Souls on the PC ‘as soon as possible’

Dark Souls developer From Software have been attempting to take their famed RPG from the console to the PC but it hasn't been as easy as they had expected. In an interview with Eurogamer producer Daisuke Uchiyama said, "to be completely honest, we're having a tough time doing it due to our lack of experience and knowledge in terms of porting to PC. First we thought it would be a breeze, but it's turned out not to be the case."

Because of the difficulty that From Software has been having porting Dark Souls to PC they confirmed that the game would not be optimized for desktop gamers, citing that the PC version would 'strictly be a port from the console version.' On top of the lack of optimization for desktop users, the frame rate issues from the console will not be amended in the PC version but From Software does send out its most sincere apologies for the occurrence.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel for those awaiting the PC version! Dark Souls will be featuring new content on the PC that focuses on the character Artorias that had always been mentioned in Dark Souls but never seen. The new content will take you into the past, to a time where Artorias existed. There will be four new bosses, new weapons, and new locations. The new content will take skilled players roughly 10 hours to navigate through completely.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition will be available for the PC on the 31st of August and the new content will be available on the Xbox 360 as DLC at the end of the year.
