It appears as though there will be no end to anime series becoming live-action films, regardless of how bad some of the physical renditions are. The next anime set to become a live-action film is none other than Fullmetal Alchemist.
According to Livedoor News (via Crunychroll), the movie will release sometime next summer with Hey! Say! JUMP member Ryosuke Yamada starring as Edward Elric. No other roles have been revealed as of yet, however is has been detailed that Fumihiko Sori (Ping Pong, Ashita no Joe) will be acting as director.
Reports have detailed that the film will be using plenty of CGI to recreate a majority of the anime's elements in the film, including Alphonse Elric's armor.
The live-action Fullmetal Alchemist film joins Attack on Titan, Death Note and Ghost in the Shell in the 'anime turned liveaction' department. Ghost in the Shell is currently filming with Scarlett Johansson taking the lead role and Kitano Takesh as Section 9 chief Arakami Daisuke.
