Funcom announced today Conan Exiles, the first of its three planned Conan the Barbarian games.
Not much is known about the game so far, but it's being built as a multiplayer game "first and foremost" that can be played on both private and public servers. It'll also feature a single-player mode.
In Conan Exiles, you are an exile, one of thousands cast out to fend for themselves in a barbaric wasteland swept in sandstorms and besieged by enemies. As a "survival" game, you'll be tasked with scavening for food — either by growing crops or hunting animals. You'll need to build build a shelter to survive and harvest resources for weapons and tools. And, of course, you'll need to sharpen your skills in fast-paced combat.
Conan Exiles will be available on PC first in Early Access this summer. Once the game has been fine tuned, it will get a full launch on both PC and consoles.
As you can tell from the cinematic trailer above, the quality seems to be astounding. Hopefully, the gameplay comes close.
Conan Exiles is one of three Conan the Barbarian games on the way, as per the agreement announced late last year.
