Funcom Launches new Age of Conan
Community Portal

Funcom, a world leading developer
and publisher of multi award-winning Massively Multiplayer Online Games, has
launched their new community portal website to support their upcoming Online
Action RPG Age of Conan – Hyborian Adventures.

“Building up a strong community and
establishing good relationships with players is a key component of developing a
successful massively multiplayer game and this new portal will play a key role
in the months ahead,” said Trond Arne Aas, CEO of Funcom.

“The strong communities around our
games are something that we are extremely proud of," said Craig Morrison, Funcom
Community Relations Manager. "With the launch of the new community portal
players will be able to keep up with and discuss all the latest news,
screenshots and videos that are released as development continues. We are really
looking forward to showing our ever growing legion of fans some of what they can
expect in Age of Conan!”

In ‘Age of Conan’ the players will
encounter a dark, lush, brutal and sinful universe, presented in fantastic
graphics and stunning 7.1 surround audio. In a world filled with cruel gods,
mythical creatures, lost civilizations and a struggling human race, the mighty
barbarian has finally seized the throne as king of Aquilonia. In this twisted
fantasy world, dark magic and the threat of combat lurks around every corner,
and each man and woman must carve his or her own unique destiny under Conan’s
reign.

“Age of Conan – Hyborian Adventures”
is scheduled for a Windows release in Q4 2006. The game won the Gamespot award
as “Best MMO” of E3 2005, as well as being runner-up as the “Most Innovative
Game of Show”. It recently won the MMORPG.com award as their “Most anticipated
MMO of 2006” and was listed as one of the top games for 2006 in both PC Gamer
and CGW
