Funding for Kickstarter games is growing overall

The last three months have seen in a surge in the price of successfully funded Kickstarter games.

Looking at every successful video game project on Kickstarter through the beginning of December, from the cheapest to most costly, the middle or median campaign earned $33,500 (either Lily Looking Through or Malevolence).

This new data comes from Ico Partners and is up from $28.7K, as reported in the beginning of September.

The average increased as well — from $153K to $196K. (Bigger projects tend to influence the average.)

"Overall, it feels like the platform is on the path to maturity — for video games — and is getting there quite fast," said Ico analyst Thomas Bidaux.
