Blizzard has confirmed that future patches for Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition on Xbox One and PS4 will mirror the patches of the PC version of the game.
"This means that the PC version's new 2.1 patch will shortly follow on Xbox One," Microsoft said on Xbox Wire. "To put that into perspective, the last time a huge PC game quickly mirrored patches on the console version was back in… well, never."
Meanwhile, over on the PlayStation Blog, Blizzard production director John Hight pretty much confirmed the same thing about the PS4 version.
"One more cool piece of news for PS4 players: the next-gen console architecture makes it much easier for us to offer ongoing patch support for the PS4 version of the Ultimate Evil Edition," he wrote. "This means that as we continue to patch the game on PC, we’ll now be able to roll out related patch content, as appropriate, on PS4 as well. It’ll take some additional time beyond the PC patch rollout, but we’ll get them to you as quickly as possible."
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition hits both next-gen systems on August 19. The Xbox One version will receive a day one patch that'll ensure it runs in full 1080p.
