Future War Thunder PS4 content detailed

With the War Thunder available on the PS4 for about a year now, developer Gaijin Entertainment is looking to expand upon the game with a slew of new content.

The main attraction looking ahead is the release of the Steel Generals expansion, which will add American tanks to War Thunder. With this expansion, around 30 new U.S. vehicles will join the ground forces battle. Players can expect iconic tanks such as Sherman, Chaffee, Patton, and more.

While waiting for that, you may want to browse the PlayStation Store, as Gaijin has already released several War Thunder Advanced Packs. Although it's possible to progress to the top-tier of a country's research tree without spending any money, these packs allow you to speed things up a bit.

"It’s a competitive multiplayer experience, so providing any combat advantage to paying users is out of question," Gaijin said.

On that note, War Thunder also offers premium vehicles. These aren't any better than regular planes and tanks in terms of combat performance, but they do provide increased rates for earned Research Points and Silver Lions in battle, allowing you to unlock other, regular vehicles faster. Premium plans and tanks also usually comes with a unique skin.

And lastly, there's the Heavy Armor Advanced pack, which is sort of a "Greatest Hits album." It includes most of the premium tanks that have been released over the last six months.
