FX orders X-Men show ‘Legion’, focuses on Professor Xavier’s son

FX has officially ordered an eight episode first season of Legion, the X-Men TV show which focuses on Professor Xavier's son David Haller.

In the comic books, David soon realizes that his lifetime of alleged schizophrenia and mentall illness is nothing of the sort as his true abilities come to light. And guess what, like father….like son. Jeph Loeb, the Executive Producer of the show, stated that

“Marvel Television is thrilled to not only have our first partnership with FX go to series, but working with the enormously talented Noah Hawley makes it even better. From the first time we heard Noah’s vision to his exceptional script and cast through the extraordinary filming of the pilot, we knew the series would be incredible.”

Haller will be played by Dan Stevens, and the show will also star Aubrey Plaza and Jean Smart among several others. It will begin filming this Summer to air in 2017 on FX.
