Gambit standalone movie delayed – again

Maybe the world isn't ready for Gambit

Gambit

We live in the golden age of superhero movies with high quality films coming out at least twice a year, something that almost make us forget about Catwoman from 2004 and Daredevil from 2003.

But getting these movie out isn't always that easy, the Gambit movie is proof of that.

This isn't the first time that Gambit has been delayed and it might not even be the last time. It Has been a long journey and the end is not yet in sight.

It all started back in May 2014 when the first news about a Gambit film came out, back then it was all just plans but still some sort of confirmation of a Gambit movie that might give him justice from this appearance in X-men Origins: Wolverine.

In January 2015 the plans for the X-men franchise came out and showed Fox's plans for X-men with Gambit scheduled to come out October 7 2016, after Apocalypse and before Wolverine 3.

In June 2015 they found a director, Rupert Wyatt, director of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and things seemed to go rather smoothly.

In August 2015 Channing Tatum who had been rumored to play Gambit in the movie officially singed on.

But then in September the same year Wyatt walked out on the production  since a push in production dates "conflicts with another project." leaving gambit without a director.

In January 2016 Gambit fans thought that they finally caught a break since filming was going to start in March the same year.

Now we are at the end of March 2016 and no filming has begun. According to The Hollywood Reporter the film is undergoing rewriting, the new director is working on a new project, and the filming of Gambit is now scheduled to start at the end of 2016 and no new release date has been set. But hey, at least Channing Tatum is still cast as Gambit.
