The last decade in gaming has seen the rise of online gaming. Sure, it has been around for much longer than that but it really rose in popularity with games like Call of Duty, Halo, Grand Theft Auto, and other various online titles that encourage you to party up with your friends and take on tasks together. Of course, for this to work everyone needs to have a copy of a game and since games are super expensive it's not always easy to be able to get the hottest new game on release day.
To make this easier, Microsoft has introduced the ability to gift digital copies of games to your friends! Simply select a game from the Xbox Store and a gift option will appear next to the buy button. Choose who you want to send it to either through their Gamertag or by email and then purchase the game. A code for the game will then be emailed to the email address tied to the recipient's Xbox account. It is vital that they have access to that email address or they won't be able to get the code.
The feature is only available for select Xbox Insiders so don't be shocked if it isn't there for you as of right now. The feature will likely begin rolling out to everyone in the next couple of months. There's currently no word as to if players will be able to send the codes for games directly through Xbox messages so we'll just have to cross our fingers.
