Game of Thrones season 6 premiere date announced

And yes, Jon Snow is back

The official Game of Thrones twitter account has announced that season 6 of Game of Thrones will be debuting at the end of April. It will be the standard 10 episode season bringing the series to 60 episodes total.

In fact, it will also be the main season where both fans of the novels will be on equal ground with those of the show as the books have now been outpaced. George R. R. Martin doesn't appear to be finishing it anytime soon, but at least we'll have Jon Snow to keep us company. Yes, that's right Jon Snow isn't dead. For some reason though people keep asking about it. If you remember, a few months ago HBO released the image of the season 6 poster featuring none other than Jon Snow himself….and he's alive.

We pretty much figured this as he's both the most popular character in the series as well as seeing the red witch, who's known for resurrecting the dead with fire, just coincidentally return to the Wall prior to his "death". There are a number of storylines to look forward to such as Hodor and Bran returning, what happens to Stanis, Brienne of Tarth, Faceless Assassin and more. The initial announcement poster of Jon Snow can be seen above, with the season 6 announcement below.
