Game of Thrones Season 6 will premiere in April, HBO announced on Twitter today, and hopefully it'll finally put an end to one of the most widely debated topics in television — the death of Jon Snow.
The announcement was made alongside the reveal of a poster featuring a bloody Jon Snow, suggesting we'll finally learn the fate of the beloved character in the upcoming season.
Season 5 ended with the dramatic death of the former Stark bastard and Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. If you recall, he was victim of a mutiny, lured into a trap by disillusioned members of the Watch and brutally stabbed to death. Or so we're led to believe. There's been plenty of speculation surrounding Jon's supposed death, and for a show that has featured several resurrections already, the skepticism is plenty warranted. The poster only reaffirms our belief that Jon Snow is either: A) not dead; B) dead, but will be reincarnated by Melisandre, perhaps as Azor Ahai. Either way, I'm pretty sure he's coming back next season.
