Gamebryo® 2 to Be Showcased at E3


LOS ANGELES and CHAPEL HILL, N.C., (May 18, 2005)  – NDL, the
leading independent developer of 3D graphics technology for the computer and
video game industry, announced today that Gamebryo® 2.0 will ship May 31.  

The Gamebryo 2 engine has been designed to take full advantage of next
generation game consoles as well as the latest generation of PCs and 3D graphics
cards. The Gamebryo 2 tools are designed to enhance productivity in the content
generation pipeline, extending and simplifying the collaboration between
artists, game designers, and programmers.  Content requirements for next
generation console games are significant, and Gamebryo 2 will enable developers
and publishers to focus their resources on content creation and gameplay. The
Gamebryo 2.0 release will fully support Xbox360.

Gamebryo 2 includes support for the latest rendering effects, including full
screen pixel shader effects such as blurring, light blooming, "night
vision,"edge detection and native in-engine support for advanced texture formats
including High Dynamic Range (HDR) textures.  Animation compression has been
added to the animation system, which reduces memory overhead of animation keys
on a per sequence basis with adjustable compression ratios.  Gamebryo 2 also
contains new performance enhancements to the scene management system to provide
greater flexibility for parallelization.

Gamebryo 1.2, which supports the creation of computer and video games for the
PC, Xbox™, PlayStation®2, and GameCube®, will continue to be available.
