Microsoft's subscription based online service, Xbox Live, has had quite the month. The service has been hit with issues multiple times, leaving gamers unable to access their games or use online applications. Hackers have claimed responsibility for the outages, saying that they did it to make Microsoft update their servers with more protection.
Whether hackers were at fault or not, the outages have left many gamers looking for compensation from Microsoft. Gamers took to a Reddit post, asking if Microsoft had even considered compensation for the outages.
Microsoft's Larry Hryb responded to the post, saying that he would bring the subject up at Microsoft.
“I’ve taken some of the more thoughtful comments and shared them with a few folks on the Xbox team to make them aware of this request,” Hryb responded (via GamingBolt). “That’s about all I’ve got right now- but when I am back in the office I am going to stop by and chat 1:1 with some folks about this as well.”
Seeing as gamers pay for the service, it's not hard to think that they would be compensated for outages. If you pay for cable and your cable goes out (and it's not your fault), you get compensation.
