Last April, the Nioh Alpha demo came out of seemingly nowhere to give Dark Souls fans a new, greater challenge to fill the void after From Software moves on from the Souls series. It mixed Dark Souls UI, items, level design, and punishments, with combat that would be right at home in the Ninja Gaiden reboot, to create something amazing.
After taking the Alpha demo's player survey to heart and making a lot of adjustments, Nioh is receiving a Beta demo that starts August 23 and ends September 6. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Nioh is shaping up to be the greatest thing to ever come from Koei Tecmo. It's obvious the company is putting a tremendous amount of effort into this new franchise.
The Nioh Beta demo received a badass new trailer at Gamescom 2016, which shows off new weapons, enemies, bosses, areas, and combat adjustments. Check it out below and let us know what you think about this Souls like challenge:
