Gamescom 2016: Take a ten minute trip through hell with this new Agony gameplay demo

It takes a certain kind of developer to be able to make something as twisted as a survival horror game taking place in hell, and being able to pull it off. If this gameplay demo is anything to go on, Madmind Studio has a clear understanding of the kind of world they are trying to build with Agony. While we know the game for its unique setting, what exactly is it that we will be doing in Agony?

The gameplay gives us a look at traditional first-person survival horror mechanics and according to the game's Steam page, players will have the ability to control simple minded demons in order to navigate the hostile world more effectively. We don't see the demon possession on display, so it's reasonable to surmise that we might be looking at an early portion of the game. The player does appear rather defenseless, so it is possible that combat could take place in a somewhat indirect way via demon possession.

There is no concrete release date for Agony, but its current timeframe is Q2 2017. Agony will release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
