GameStop ad reveals Power Pass, a 6-month “unlimited gaming” subscription service

With people consuming more games than ever, there's a growing need for an alternative option for people who lack the means to buy a game whenever they want. An image of a GameStop ad has made its way to the internet (courtesy of ResetEra) showing off a service called Power Pass which lets PowerUp Rewards members subscribe to a six-month program for $60. Power Pass allows subscribers to pick out any pre-owned game, play it, and swap it out for another one at any GameStop location.

Check out the image:

At the conclusion of your rental period, you have the option of keeping the last game, which seems to be quite a deal to anyone who subscribes to the program.

This seems to be a better deal than GameFly's subscription service, which is $15.95 at its base level for a single month. Just for comparison's sake, if GameStop's Power Pass and the PowerUp Rewards program cost you $75 total ($60 for the Pass, $15 for the Rewards) for six months worth of time, you'll end up spending $95.70 at GameFly for the exact same thing.

Sign-ups for GameStop's Power Pass begin on November 19th, 2017.
