In an earnings call today, GameStop came forward with their expectation that the PS4 Neo is going to be revealed at the PlayStation Press Event happening on September 7th. Considering the rumblings that have been trickling through various outlets across the internet, GameStop's stance appears to add legitimacy to the previously salty rumor.
A GameStop executive said:
"We'll know more obviously after September 7."
The executive also mentioned that the company has incorporated Neo Sales into its earning guidance in "light form" since the system has yet to be confirmed.
The Neo isn't the only PlayStation console to be making headlines recently. An all-new PS4 Slim appears to have made its way into the hands of one consumer, but like the Neo, its legitimacy has also yet to be confirmed by Sony. Granted, an all new Slim Model would make a ton of sense given the Xbox One S' massively successful launch earlier this month.
It's quite possible that the PlayStation Press Event may only be to reveal the PS4 Slim, but at this point, anything less than a Neo reveal would be a huge disappointment.
