GameStop nearly sells out of Xbox One X in 24 hours

Is it due to demand or did Microsoft produce less?

Despite some analysts suggesting that the Xbox One X will not sell well, GameStop has managed to nearly sell out of their stock of Xbox One X consoles in one day. It's unclear whether GameStop had a limited supply and it was not detailed how many sold overall, however, it does suggest that there is demand for the product.

"Sales of the new Xbox One X have been incredible! We have sold through most of our initial allotment in just one day," GameStop SVP of merchandising Bob Puzon said. "We are already working with Microsoft to get our hands on more of the world's most powerful video game console!"

Nintendo has been known to shortbake their wares in order to spike consumer interest, so it is possible that Microsoft did the same.
