GameStop offering extra $50 in store credit for console, tech and VR trade-ins

If you're looking to get some extra cash at GameStop and get rid of a console for a new one, now is the time to get it done. The retailer is offering a special trade-in deal for consoles and select devices.

Starting today, you can get a $50 gift card to GameStop if you trade in "select consoles, tech devices, or VR and choose credit." What are the "select consoles" and devices, though? Luckily, the fine print cleared everything up – except for that pesky VR option:

Console:

  • XBOX ONE
  • PS4
  • PLAYSTATION VR
  • WII U (32GB)

Tech:

  • IPHONE 6
  • IPHONE 6 PLUS
  • IPHONE 6S
  • IPHONE 6S PLUS
  • IPAD MINI 2, MINI 3, MINI 4
  • IPAD 4
  • IPAD PRO
  • GALAXY S5
  • GALAXY S6
  • GALAXY S7

It should be noted that the current trade-in value for the consoles is the following: a 32GB Wii U is $125, a 500GB PS4 is $125, a 500GB Xbox One is $75, and a 1TB Xbox One is $130.

This deal ends on December 9th, which means you don't have a lot of time to make good on the deal. In addition to only those items fitting the bill, the deal cannot be combined with any other store offer and will only be applicable to items in "full working condition."
