Steam Machines, the official ones at least, will be coming out later this year, along with the Steam Link and Steam Controller. Today, Valve announced that GameStop in the US and Canada, as well as GAME in the UK will have dedicated Steam sections for various hardware.
"GameStop, GAME UK, and EBĀ Games are leading retail destinations for core gamers and early adopters," said Gabe Newell of Valve. "Creating a 'store within a store' across North America and the UK is a significant win for getting the first generation of Steam Hardware products into gamers' hands."
The Steam Controller is an alternative gamepad for your PC that will allow you to play both controller enabled games, as well as games meant to be played with a keyboard and mouse, thanks to its innovative trackpad and will retail for $49.99. Steam Link allows players to wirelessly stream their gamepaly from their PC to your TV at 1080p and 60fps, and it will retail for $49.99.
There will also be various configurations for Steam Machines from various manufacturers, which will offer a gaming PC in a small box, comparable to a console. These machines will be varied in price, but the average retail price for a unit is around $449.99.
PC sections have long been sparse in retailer stores, so it's nice to see PC making a big comeback thanks to various Steam hardware.
