It's the 16th day of the month, and you know what that means. Not only are we officially over the hump, but a new round of free games on Xbox Live's Games With Gold program is now available for Xbox fans with an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Starting today, both Outlast (Xbox One) and Burnout Paradise (Xbox 360) are free to download and keep in your personal libraries forever even if you stop paying for Gold.
Tonally, the two games could not be more different. Outlast is one of the best first person horror games on the market, taking place within an old insane asylum in the remote mountains of Colorado. The best part about Outlast is that you have no way to defend yourself, and your best means of seeing where you're going is through your camcorder. To put it lightly, it's the stuff of nightmares. For more on Outlast, check out our review.
Burnout Paradise is an arcade racer that's all about smashing your car into the person next to you. It's been in talks for backwards compatibility since the beginning of the program, so it's great to see it finally see the light of day. Plus the game runs at a smooth 60 FPS, so it is quite sleek.
