Robert Bowling's next-gen, open-world zombie game Human Element will let players hunt for resources in the real world.
Portable versions of the game will feature GPS tracking to reward players with location-based bonuses. Players can then transfer their findings to the console counterparts, Bowling told Games Industry International in an interview.
"Say my girlfriend doesn't want to play the console experience but she wants to play on iPad — she likes that experience," he said. "If we have an alliance she can play the resource management game, that scavenging mechanic, and she can be benefiting my game by sharing supplies with my survivors."
Human Element will be the debut game for Bowling's studio, Robotoki. It's dated for 2015.
