Gearbox confirms two new IPs in the works for next-gen

Gearbox is working on two new franchises for next-generation consoles, company CEO Randy Pitchford confirmed at PAX.

"Should we announced Borderlands 3," he quipped. Given the success of the Borderlands franchise, I'd say so, but Pitchford explained that these were in addition to other projects the studio is already working on, like Brothers in Arms: Furious Four which will be reimagined as a new IP.

Gearbox Software also detailed plans for its 2013 Community Day event. It will take place on September 14 and will be streamed online. There are several ways for you to participate in the event including purchasing the "digital bonus pack" which upgrades the stream to high definition and grants access to closed beta for one fo the upcoming Gearbox games. You'll also receive a free download of Homeworld HD.
