As promised, Gearbox today detailed the future plans for Borderlands 2 which includes a level increase and new missions and raid bosses via DLC.
The level cap will be raised by 11 levels to 72 this fall in the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge. This is a new map where Patricia Tannis will let players fight high-level enemies to gain new loot. It will be released at the end of October for $5.00. In addition, a free update will also add additional backpack, ammo, and bank slots.
Gearbox will also release multiple "Headhunter" packs offering new missions and uniquely themed boss fights. The first mission will be T.K. Baha's Bloody Harvest, which will see the return of characters last seen in Borderlands 1's Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC. T.K. Baha will send players back to fight Jaques O'Lantern, a giant pumpkin boss. Gearbox noted that multiple headhunter packs (at least two, possibly three) will be coming in the future, but no pricing or release dates have been announced.
All new downloadable content will be separate from the Borderlands 2 Season Pass, which concluded last month with the release of Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep.
