Gearbox Software CEO teases new Duke Nukem announcement for next week

In 2011, Gearbox Software released the long awaited Duke Nukem Forever. The game was in development for over a decade and many feared that it would disappoint. It ended up being more than a disappointment, it was a dumpster on fire and many saw it as one of the worst games of that generation. Since then, Gearbox hasn't really gone back to Duke outside of a recent remaster of Duke Nukem 3D. That may soon change.

When a fan reached out to Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford to request a Gears of War/Duke Nukem cross-over, Pitchford replied with a comment that has made us all very curious. Pitchford revealed that Gearbox would be announcing something brand new on December 1st (presumably at The Game Awards).

Now, we don't know exactly what it is but one can only imagine it is a new Duke Nukem game due to the fact that he specifically replied to someone talking about Duke Nukem. It is also the 20th anniversary of Duke Nukem 3D, so what better way to celebrate than by announcing a new game?!

Check back on December 1st when we have more information about whatever Gearbox Software announces!
