Gears 5 launch trailer is here and surprises with unexpected cameos

Xbox gamers are very soon getting one of the most anticipated games with The Coalition’s newest Gears of War game. Today, Microsoft has released the launch trailer for Gears 5 and if there’s one thing you take away from it, it’s that it aims to smother gamers with content. Some you might not have expected. Check out the trailer here!

As one of the crown jewels of the large Xbox Game Studios, The Coalition managed to achieve the impressive feat of breathing new life into an old franchise. Gears of War has been a notable factor in the Xbox 360 becoming huge hit, but the years haven’t been kind to it. Like any long-running series, stagnation and repetition led to fans loosing interest in it.

And that’s where The Coalition came in with 2016’s awesome Gears of War 4. The developer became the dedicated Gears studio and what was a great first attempt with GoW4 is looking to reach perfection with this year’s Gears 5. Not only does the game has a new protagonist but for the first time there will be larger open-world areas which dwarf anything previously seen.

From one of gaming’s most acclaimed sagas, Gears is bigger than ever, with five thrilling modes and the deepest campaign yet. With all-out war descending, Kait Diaz breaks away to uncover her connection to the enemy and discovers the true danger to Sera – herself.

The launch trailer also shows some of the rather interesting cross promotion choices. The inclusion of Halo Reach skins makes a lot of sense, since that series is also heavily ingrained with the Xbox. But it’s the appearance of Terminator: Dark Fate characters and Wrestling superstar Dave Bautista which look hilarious but still somehow works.

Gears 5 is launching September 10th for the Xbox One and PC. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can enjoy the game a whole four days earlier starting September 6th.
