Gears Of War 4 is just one week away, copies are already in the hands of reviewers, and fans are chomping at the bit to learn anything they can about the highly anticipated sequel to Gears of War 3 which released five years ago! One fan reached out to The Coalition's Rod Fergusson to find out if there will be any day one patch that'll delay their playtime when the game finally releases.
Fergusson states that the digital versions will have the patch included in the main download, so you won't have to do any extra updates at launch. For disc owners, you'll have to download an extra 11 GB patch before you begin playing. It's unclear what the patch includes but it isn't uncommon for a game to have a day one patch as there is always something to tweak before the game launches.
Players can begin pre-loading their copies on both Xbox One and PC since the game is an Xbox Play Anywhere title. You can view Fegusson's tweets below.

To clarify – if digital, no day one patch since all 54.6 gigs are downloaded. If physical disk then there will be 11 gig download.
