Gears of War: Exile project officially cancelled

Gears of War: Exile, a rumored yet never announced Kinect project, has officially been canned.

Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski said today that the project is no longer in development.

"Let's just bury the hatchet now," Cliffy B told GameSpot. "Gears of War: Exile was an unannounced game that I can't give any details about that has since been canceled."

The game's trademarks were first spotted in January 2011 with it being said that Exile was to be revealed at E3 that same year.  Little else was known about the game, which was rumored to be an "on-rails Kinect experience".

Why the game was canceled, we don't know.  Either way, we can now move on.
