Gears of War 3 Welcomes Newcomers

Epic Games announced at Comic Con that they want Gears of War 3 to be welcoming for newcomers to the series. They claim that they want it to be the easiest to pick up and play and in order to do so they are implementing an exclusive “casual” mode. This exclusive multiplayer mode can only be accessed by people who have never played Gears of War before.

This means that if you have any achievements from Gears of War 1 or 2, or if you have played the Gears of War 3 beta, you can not access the “casual” multiplayer mode. These “casual” players will be granted aim assist, but no other details about this mode were revealed.

This is a great addition in my opinion. It’s always good to attract a new audience and welcome noobs to a game. Although I wish they would open it up to people who just flat out suck at the Gears of War multiplayer so that I can get some of this aim assistance.
