Gears of War fans raise $150,000 for Child’s Play charity

Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski and Rod Fergusson took time out from working on Gears of War 3 on Sunday to thank fans at PAX for supporting the “Fate of Carmine” campaign, which has raised over $150,000 for Child’s Play.

By buying one of two t-shirts (“Save Carmine” and “Carmine Must Die”), gamers have been able to cast their vote on whether or not the latest Carmine brother survives in Gears of War 3, with all proceeds going to Child’s Play.

Although Bleszinski says the fate of Carmine has been sealed, we’ll have to wait and see just what that fate will be. Gears of War 3 will be released on April 5, 2011.
